Letter is written on Southern Pacific letterhead dated 9/26/16. Begins with “Dearest Toodler” and appears to be a love letter of sorts written by E. Stinson, the husband of the recipient. “I’ve heard and read that married folks should take a separate vacation and be away from each other once a year, there may be a great deal in that too, for every time I am away I realize how much I need you and how much I love you.” Actually gets a little racy in spots. Mr. Stinson goes on to discuss a labor strike which may affect his work and the date he anticipates reuniting with his wife. “I received my rate order and a pass to Sparks (NV) this morning…Trains are running thick and fast...” Well written and humorous. Ragged right edge. Envelope is torn, dirty and stained. Printed two-cent stamp. Addressed to Mrs. E.B. Stinson in Redondo Beach, CA. There is another letter in this catalog from E.B. Stinson to his wife written seven years later also to the Redondo Beach address where she must have had friends or family that she regularly visited (although in this instance it sounds as if it is he who is traveling or away).
